The Journey Begins

Welcome to my space on the internet!

For the past couple of years, I have been toying with the idea of launching a new project that focuses more around my adventures and everything I’m up to.

As everyone reading this initial post knows, I moved from Oklahoma to New Mexico after coming out as transgender. That big set of changes kept this project (Sanner.Photography) from happening for quite some time. However, finally after letting life settle a bit I believe its time to get this site launched.

All of these big life changes have sped up some other changes that were already in place or on the way. Most notably, you all know I’ve been a chaser of storms now for 17 years. I still love weather, but after almost two decades its only a part of what I’m doing these days. I will still be talking about all of those adventures as well, but the simple fact is weather is only one of many things I’m interested in.

Weather was an amazing and nearly exclusive ride for me for a decade, but it isn’t the only thing I’m interested in these days. In terms of photography and video, landscapes and culture both are creative outlets that I can’t get enough of. Style is something I’m engrossed in fully (especially now after coming out). Architecture is amazing.

Enter New Mexico.

There’s no greater state for me to live. There are so many great landscapes and so much culture here that there’s literally no way you can get your fill in any short amount of time. I have seasons for style. The architecture here is unique to all of America.

You could say I’m smitten by this place.

So with that said, this site (Sanner.Photography) is my place to share with you my adventures. I will mostly focus on the Southwest US with an occasional trip outside of that.

I’ll also share thoughts about being trans in America — those posts will ultimately be political in nature because my existence is unfortunately political. I hope if you are here reading, viewing and watching that you find yourself supportive of trans rights regardless.

So with that said, let’s get this party started.

I'm a trans photographer and filmmaker based in New Mexico. I love adventure and travel and exploring my state. I chase down incredible storms and skies. I advocate for good mental health and for my trans siblings.
